SOSRES’s policy experts have advised United Nations officers and senior government policy makers across Asia and the Pacific on sustainable development policy tools in both developed and developing countries alike.

In an age of rapidly increasing resource scarcity, climate change and unstable global economic growth, SOSRES offers counsel to better ensure long-term, inclusive, and climate resilient development decision-making.  This requires a comprehensive and integrated understanding of the local, national, regional, and global obstacles to development as well as the most innovative policy tools available.

SOSRES can assist clients in analyzing policy and market incentive structures and trends, and provide policy prescriptions for fostering green growth and transitioning to a low carbon and climate resilient path of development.

Crosscutting Concerns
Recognizing the gender and wealth gap, climate change and environmental degradation, among other concerns, SOSRES incorporates a wide spectrum of crosscutting issues into its policy impact analysis, studies and recommendations.  These include issues relating to poverty reduction and job creation, forestry, climate change, biodiversity, women’s empowerment, health, and natural resources conflict.
